Never say Never

I thought maybe we were going to have some warm spring weather. Wrong we had a 2 hour spring snow storm. Yesterday while crossing the church parking lot it was snowing so stinking hard I could not tell if the ground was flat or slanted. Apparently there was a slight slop, as my knee hit the ground and then the rest of me right out there for all of the folks driving by on highway 306 to see. I realized that is not a safe place for me to be walking right now!! So next time I can't see my hand in front of my face I will walk where I know it is flat.
Never say never!! I said I would never knit socks on a toothpick. My friend, Marilyn King, who sells the yarn below gifted me these wonderful sock yarns which will need to knit on size 0 needles. I usually knit most of my socks on size 2's or 1's. My sister is coming and we are going to knit socks, don't worry Terry I will not set you up to fail and myself look like a know it all on your first socks. I have matured since our childhood days!! This yarn is such a great gift, I am thinking about trying to dye some of the light colored ones. I will post pictures, but first I have to finish the sock in the picture.
Today we had meetings at work so I knitted on the pink sock. Someone asked me if they noticed me knitting in the meeting. Hmmmmm, I don't have to look at the stitches as I go, but unless the man is blind he should of noticed the bright pink sock. Anyway, he did not tell me to put it away, if he would have it would not of been long before he asked me to get it out again. I didn't bring a doodle pad. (I don't sit still well, Mike refers to it as a shark in a feeding frenzy, if I don't have anything to keep my hands busy)

Spring may be on it's way to Buena Vista

My newest sock project has all the colors of spring. I seem to have quite a few socks knitted up that are not pairs. So this month with be the season to not let that be the case.

From this to that!! Here is the sock I just finished knitting up from the yarn I dyed with the bag full of yellow onion skins!! I am very happy with the way the yarn turned out and the socks look great too. I have scolded myself for wanting to dye more yarn before I have knitted up the last 3 batches that are waiting some needles to touch them. My thoughts keep going toward a blue-bell yarn color. One other pair will need to at least get started before I am even allowed to get close to the dye pot.

When Mike gets home he will have great stories to tell. He was invited to help out at a branding and was so excited to go. It is the first branding however that he did not take his own horse. Just threw some tack in the truck and off he went. Mike does miss this time of year with branding and seeing all the new life on the ranch. I am so thrilled for him to get to be a part of his life that he misses.
We are sure missing our Max dog, chatter from Mikes end of the table is sounding more like getting another Corgi dog some day. I may have to get a night job to afford one!! Maybe I can post some pictures of a dog instead of knitting all the time. Wouldn't that be fun for you all. Until next time--I will try not to wait so long.
